IEP Development
Learn how to plan, develop and implement meaningful IEPs that keep the student at the heart of the process. This training explores best practices across each component of the IEP, helping participants create aligned, actionable plans that reflect individual student needs.
Participants will:
- Understand the purpose and importance of an IEP
- Identify required IEP team members and apply best practices for successful meetings
- Recognize special considerations that should be addressed by the IEP team
- Develop strong Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance
- Create SMART goals and objectives aligned to student needs and standards
- Identify appropriate accommodations, modifications, related services and supports
- Use data collection and progress monitoring to evaluate student growth
- Understand special education placement and the importance of the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE)
