What is Inspire?
Inspire is a research-based, standards-aligned program designed for targeted skill intervention in Reading/Language Arts and Math, leveraging a gradual release of responsibility model and differentiated instructional activities.
To help educators assess progress and teach targeted skills, Inspire provides a structured suite of digital tools, instructional materials, and automated reporting options.
Why teachers use Inspire
Inspire helps teachers deliver skill-based, standards-aligned instruction while supporting students at different levels of access and independence.
Inspire helps teachers:
- Establish baselines and measure skill progress with wrap-around pre- and post- assessments at the course and lesson levels.
- Track student completion rates, attempts, and accuracy with automated scoring and data collection.
- Guide learning with explicit lesson plans built around the gradual release framework.
- Differentiate standards-aligned content with three built-in support levels.

How Inspire supports differentiated instruction
All academic content in Inspire includes built-in accommodations at differentiated levels to provide individualized support that helps students make progress toward meeting the general education standards.
Level 4
Maximum
Support for students who need intensive assistance, serving as the foundational tier with maximum visual scaffolds, adaptations, and direct supports to ensure full access to lesson content.
Level 5
Moderate
Support for students who need moderate scaffolding, offering a balanced tier of visual cues and instructional guidance as they build skill proficiency.
Level 6
Minimal
Support for students who can work independently, providing minimal visual or prompting guidance so learners can demonstrate maximum proficiency and independence.

Set up your students
Create student accounts, adjust student settings, and use profiles to understand support needs.
Create or add student accounts
Start by adding students to your roster.
Before creating a new student account, always search for an existing student first. Duplicate accounts can affect student data and cannot be merged.
To add a student:
1 Open Students from the My Account menu
2 Select Add Student
3 Search for the student using the search bar or Show All Available Students
4 If the student appears with a plus sign, add them to your roster
5 If the student is already on another teacher’s roster, they may need to be dropped before you can add them
6 If no account exists, create a new student account and complete the required fields
7 Select the Everway solutions the student needs access to

Create sample students
It is recommended that teachers create sample students to safely explore the platform and preview the student experience.
Customize student settings

Login settings
Choose how students access their dashboard, including username and password, simplified password, or QR badge.
Accessibility settings
Adjust text-to-speech, symbol support, zoom, visual prompts, target cues, and other supports.
Shared settings
Share student access with other educators, service providers, or support staff.
Course Pre-Assessments
Establish baselines with existing student data and course pre-assessments.
- Before starting instruction, educators review existing student records, including previous intervention logs and graphs, universal screening data, and diagnostic assessments, to identify historical baselines, skill gaps, and necessary accommodations.
- Each Inspire course begins with a Course Pre-Assessment containing 8 to 12 items (including prerequisite skills). This assessment establishes a baseline for overall course readiness and automatically generates prescriptive lesson recommendations tailored to specific skill deficits.
Lesson Pre-Assessments
Identify support needs and recommendations with lesson pre-assessments.
- Before starting a specific skill lesson, students complete an adaptive Lesson Pre-Assessment. Questions begin at Level 6 (minimal support); if missed, the system adjusts to Level 5 (moderate support) and then Level 4 (maximum support). The pre-assessment result automatically sets the student's entry-level support tier for subsequent practice activities.
- Teachers view baseline scores, accuracy summaries, and starting-point recommendations through the Course Performance By Skill Report. This baseline data serves as the benchmark to measure pre-to-post growth after instruction is completed.

Use student data, differentiated levels, and classroom routines to organize instruction.
You might group students by:
- Instructional readiness
- Differentiated level
- Specific skill gaps
- Shared learning goals
- Classroom routines or rotations
TIP You can create custom classes in the Planner to match the way your classroom actually runs. For example, Whole Group Reading, Small Group A, Small Group Math, IEP Goal Work, Independent Practice, etc.

To create a class:
1 Open Planner from the My Account menu
2 Select Add Class
3 Name the class
4 Choose a color and icon
5 Add students
6 Save the class
Using colors and icons can help students identify the correct class or activity when they log in to their dashboard.

- Gamified Warm-Ups: Motivating activities specifically designed to activate prior knowledge and prepare students for learning.

- Interactive Materials: Utilizing the Interactive Viewer and the "Go" feature allows teachers to launch dynamic digital documents. This is significantly more effective than static PDFs, as it enables real-time modeling and adjusted visual settings to maintain engagement.
